Operations Internship
Are you interested in an internship with us?
Who we are
AsyLex is a non-profit organization based in Switzerland. Since 2017, we have been providing free online legal advice and representation for asylum seekers and refugees. Over the past eight years, we have advised over 17,000 clients in more than 20 different languages – thanks to the commitment of around 200 volunteers.
Your Tasks
We are looking for an intern who shares our values, has a strong interest in asylum and human rights, and enjoys organising. During the internship, you will gain insight into the different areas involved in managing a human rights NGO. This includes external communications, event and community management, IT and LegalTech, fundraising, HR, and administration.
Your tasks will include:
-
Supporting fundraising efforts and helping to implement crowdfunding campaigns
-
Planning and organising the AsyLex Academies, which take place three times a year, and co-organising other events, workshops, and meetings
-
Supporting our social media channels and website
-
Attending external meetings and conferences on behalf of AsyLex
-
Assisting with the development of LegalTech tools
-
Handling administrative and HR-related tasks and supporting the coordination of day-to-day operations
-
Occasionally accompanying clients to appointments with authorities (if you are interested)
Who we are looking for
Are you studying social sciences, event management, communications, or a similar field (at least a bachelor’s degree) or have you recently graduated? Do you have a strong sense of justice and can keep a clear perspective even under pressure? Have you already actively advocated for human rights in the past and demonstrated independence and organizational skills? Are you interested in both the topic of asylum and the management of an NGO, and are you eager to specialize in this area? Then you’ve come to the right place!
We are looking for a responsible individual who enjoys taking initiative and is fluent in German and English (French and other languages frequently used in the asylum system are an advantage).
