Education & AsyLex Academies
We believe that knowledge grows when it is shared. By training volunteers, practitioners, and partners, AsyLex multiplies its impact far beyond individual cases.
Building a More Just Future, Together.
Lasting access to justice depends on more than winning individual cases. Refugees, lawyers, and civil society need the tools, training, and spaces to build knowledge together. At AsyLex, empowerment means sharing expertise, amplifying lived experiences, and creating learning opportunities that multiply impact far beyond our own organization.
Our mission extends beyond winning individual cases. We are committed to building a sustainable ecosystem of knowledge and mutual learning that empowers both the people we help and the wider legal community. We believe that true, lasting change comes from sharing knowledge, fostering collaboration, and using our direct experience to advocate for a fairer system for all.
This pillar is about creating a powerful feedback loop: our legal work informs our advocacy, and our community-based learning strengthens our ability to provide effective support. It is how we ensure our impact endures.
AsyLex Academy
Hands-on training in asylum law for (future) practitioners
The AsyLex Academy was initially created to equip AsyLex volunteers with a fundamental understanding of the Swiss asylum procedure and to keep them updated with the latest case law. Due to the significant interest in our program, we are excited to extend the AsyLex Academy to a wider audience!
We now offer the AsyLex Academy to the public twice a year, in May and September. Each session of the AsyLex Academy is centred around a specific theme and features expert speakers who provide in-depth insights on the topic. Whether you are a student, professional, or NGO representative seeking to enhance your knowledge of asylum law, the AsyLex Academy is now open to you. The participation fee is 70 CHF, with discounted rates of 50 CHF for NGO representatives and 25 CHF for students.
The language of the materials and presentations is mainly English; however, specific modules could also be held in German or French.
Upcoming events will be communicated on our website and social media platforms in advance.
If you are interested in joining us, please email operations@asylex.ch indicating your personal information as well as the AsyLex Academy event(s) you would like to participate in. The number of participants is restricted, and participation is only guaranteed upon payment of the participation fee.
Join us for hands-on training and become a part of our community dedicated to supporting asylum seekers with expert knowledge and skills.
