Access to Legal Representation
Navigating the asylum process alone is overwhelming. AsyLex provides free online legal advice and representation to people seeking asylum in Switzerland – so that no one has to face a complex legal system without support.
Legal support at every stage of the process
Asylum appeals
We support individuals in challenging negative decisions by the SEM, including legal analysis, drafting appeals, and representation before Swiss courts.
Dublin procedures
We advise and represent people facing transfer to another European country, particularly in cases involving family unity, vulnerability, or inadequate reception conditions.
Family reunification
We assist refugees and provisionally admitted persons in reunification procedures with close family members, including legal applications and communication with authorities.
Residence & migration law (AIG)
We provide support in matters related to residence permits, renewals, hardship applications, revocations, and other procedures under Swiss migration law.
Administrative detention
We represent individuals held in immigration detention and review the legality of detention orders, including urgent interventions and court proceedings.
Crimmigration
We support individuals affected by the intersection of criminal and migration law, particularly where criminal proceedings or convictions lead to detention, deportation, or the loss of residence rights.
International complaints
We support international human rights complaints and submissions before bodies such as the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child (CRC), the UN Committee Against Torture (CAT), and other international mechanisms.
Legal advocacy
We contribute to legal advocacy initiatives, shadow reports, policy submissions, and strategic human rights documentation addressed to international monitoring bodies and institutions.
Outreach
Through transnational outreach and the Rights in Exile (RiE) platform, we provide legal information and support to displaced persons outside Switzerland and strengthen collaboration with civil society actors across borders.
