Our Work
AsyLex closes the justice gap by combining legal expertise, innovation, and collaboration. Our activities are structured around three pillars that guide everything we do.
A Strategic Approach to Justice
Our work is designed to close the significant gaps that prevent displaced people from asserting their basic rights. We focus our efforts on three core pillars that address the entire journey of accessing justice: providing clear information, offering expert legal representation, and empowering individuals and communities through knowledge.
Together, these pillars allow us to meet urgent individual needs while creating tangible, lasting impact for the people we serve.
The 3 pillars of our Work
Access to Information
The first barrier to justice is often a lack of clear, understandable information. We are committed to demystifying the asylum process by developing accessible digital resources that empower individuals from the very start. From FAQs in Switzerland to the global Rights in Exile platform, our work ensures knowledge is available to those who need it.
We believe that informed individuals are empowered individuals, capable of becoming active participants in their own legal journey. This is the foundation of our work.
Access to Legal Representation
When fundamental rights are on the line, direct legal support is essential. This is the core of our work. Our network of volunteer legal experts provides free, high-quality representation to asylum seekers at critical stages of their journey.
Our specialized teams focus on high-impact areas where legal intervention can be life-changing: administrative detention, Dublin transfers, family reunification, and other migration-related procedures. They ensure that every client receives quality, case-specific support.
Empowerment & Knowledge Sharing
Our mission extends beyond individual cases. We are committed to building a sustainable ecosystem of knowledge that empowers both displaced people and the next generation of legal professionals. Through our AsyLex Academies, workshops, and the active involvement of people with lived experience in our team, we foster a community of collaborative learning. This creates a powerful feedback loop, where direct legal work informs broader advocacy, helping us build a fairer and more just system from the ground up.
